WINDSOR REGIONAL LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD

PRESENT: Mike Neely, “D” Graner, Connie Ochoa, Phil Hoeft, Deborah Doyle, Barbara Maes, Mel McCallum (Guerneville Regional Library Branch Manager)

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC PRESENT: None

PUBLIC COMMENTS: None

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE PRIOR MEETING: Approved as presented.

LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Presented by Barbara Maes. A budget presentation has been made. Miss California 2022 attended Windsor Library storytime. A Community Engagement Division is proposed with a Teen Services Librarian.

LIBRARY COMMISSIONER'S REPORT: Recruiting Deputy Director. Budget workshop includes the new division. For the Roseland branch, they have funding for construction, furniture and equipment. New commissioners: Eve Goldberg for Sonoma County and Brooke Greene for Cloverdale. Rachel Parker, the commissioner for Cotati, has resigned. CLA meeting is in June, ALA is also in June (in Chicago); Public Library Fund Raising meeting is in Texas in June.

BRANCH MANAGER'S REPORT: Jude’s hours have been increased, Patrick has been promoted to half-time associate and Michelle Celli has been hired as half-time specialist. Meeting with police and waiting on hardware for Open+ security. Outreach: 76 events January-March, 2700 contacts. Partnering with Catholic Charities for citizenship class. Planning major outreach events. Circulation: 14,000 checkouts to 7000 patrons per month, numbers were up during the month of March.

FRIENDS OF THE WINDSOR LIBRARY REPORT: Spring newsletter will be mailed next month. Farmers Market book sales will be May 11, June 18, July 2 and August 27.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: Do we need LABs? Request board members at outreach events to do recruiting.
