Program Description
Details
Born to a family with deep roots in West Sonoma County, Mr. King will be at the Guerneville Library to discuss his book The Ghost Forest, Racists, Radicals and Real Estate in the California Redwoods. Mr. King spearheaded the movement in the late 1980s to save Headwaters Forest, then the world's largest unprotected virgin redwood grove. The Ghost Forest chronicles that experience, and the convergence of forces leading to the near-destruction of the original coastal redwood ecosystem. In addition to discussing his book and research, Mr. King will share his original photography.
