The Sonoma Valley Regional Library is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Gayle Manfre in September. The public is invited to a reception on Friday September 13, 2024 from 4 to 5:30 PM in the library’s forum room. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibition will be available to view for the entire month of September during open hours when the forum room is not in use.
Gayle believes that the act of creating becomes a healing source that allows an artist to express joy, frustration, or anguish. She often paints scenes and objects from everyday life that are nostalgic and reminiscent of her past, and she enjoys the “excitement of color.” The colorful paintings that she is sharing in her show at the library center around women’s history, and viewers will recognize many famous women from the past and present.
Many thanks for Library Advisory Board member Aparna Sinha and the Friends of the Library for making this show and the September 13th reception possible.
