About the Artist:
Bob is a native Californian, born in Oakland, raised in San Luis Obispo County, and settled in Santa Rosa for the past 54 years. He was a clinical social worker in Santa Rosa for 45 years. While he has always had a camera in his hand, his first image of significance came on May 20, 1969 when he captured an image of the National Guard helicopter gassing the students over Sproul Plaza.
After that his camera was used sparingly until he realized he had better find a hobby to keep him busy when he retired. After purchasing a digital camera ad visiting South Africa, he chose the joy of photography.
As a result of that trip, he realized he had much to learn. He began taking photography workshops, took a yearlong Photoshop class at the Santa Rosa Junior College, read books, and attended online classes. By far he received the most from the photography workshops as they provided lessons as well as opportunities to practice the craft in gorgeous settings.
Bob has traveled extensively both within the United States and abroad. From these trips he has accumulated an inventory of work that has won many awards over the years.
