Welcome to our Read to a Dog Program at the Sonoma Valley Library!

This event is for beginning readers. 

Come and read out loud to the dogs of PALS (Paws as Loving Support). These well-trained dogs love to listen to stories in English and Spanish.

Children build confidence in their reading skills by reading aloud in a safe space.

Drop by the Game Lounge to play video games, study, or just hang with your peers!

Laptops, iPads, and board games will be available to use.

Are you looking for a welcoming group to enjoy reading with? Our sensory friendly book club is open to kids with disabilities, 3rd - 6th grade, along with their caregivers. (Limit 8 participants.)

We offer Homework Help to students in grades K-12 on Tuesdays from 3:15PM -6PM at the library.  Volunteer tutors are available to work with students on homework assignments or skills practice.  No registration necessary. 

Join us for an inclusive event for queer families and allies focused on celebrating the importance of family, diversity, and community.

All ages welcome!

Beginning Readers Welcome!

Practice reading with a 4PAWS certified therapy dog to improve reading skills and confidence.

Learn how to identify the tracks of various Northern California animals, make a track impression in clay, design your own ‘track guide’, and check out a special animal exhibit on loan from Sonoma County Regional Parks!

Join us for hands on engineering, problem solving and play using building bricks (ex: Legos, Duplos, KEVA Planks) on the first and third Tuesday of every month.  

Join us for this fun yoga class designed for children ages 4-11, and their parent/caregiver. Classes are conducted in Spanish and English. Led by Sara Gagnon. Please bring your own yoga mat or towel.

Explore cooking with super easy and yummy recipes for kids with Ceres Community Project.

Join us at Lego & Build Club for hands on engineering, problem solving exercises, and play using age-appropriate materials. Younger siblings are welcome to attend and use our collection of Duplo bricks.

When you register and arrive at the library for the First Chapter Book Club, Librarian Serena will have copies of the book we will read. Children can read aloud, read along, or just listen and enjoy. There is a new book each month.

Together with the Robert Ferguson Observatory, club members will study the night sky, learn how to use telescopes, meet other kids who are interested in space, and leave with a Young Astronomers membership button!

Join us each Wednesday from 6-7:30 to sew in community.  

We have sewing machines for you to use as well as volunteers to assist and support you in your endeavors.
