Welcome to our Read to a Dog Program at the Sonoma Valley Library!

This event is for beginning readers. 

Learn about award-winning children’s books and the techniques used to illustrate them. Choose from several illustrators and create your own masterpiece in an award-winning style. For ages 4 & up. Supplies provided.

Kids and teens fostering a love of reading—together!

Book Buddies is for kids in grades K-3 and takes place at the Healdsburg Elementary School Library Learning Commons. 

Session 1: 3PM-3:30PM
Session 2: 3:45PM-4:15PM

Come and read out loud to the dogs of PALS (Paws as Loving Support). These well-trained dogs love to listen to stories in English and Spanish. 

Come and read aloud to the dogs of the Humane Society of Sonoma County. These well-trained dogs love to listen to stories! Children build confidence in their reading skills by reading aloud in a safe space. 

Bring your gently used puzzles to share with fellow puzzle lovers.  Enjoy refreshments, complete a small puzzle in community, and take home a new puzzle to enjoy!

This event is for beginning readers. 

Practice reading with a 4PAWS certified therapy dog to improve reading skills and confidence. 

Join us for this fun yoga class designed for children ages 2-9 and their parent/caregiver. Classes are conducted in Spanish and English. Led by Sara Gagnon. Free! Pre-register online to receive a reminder email.

Drop in from 3:00-4:00 on Tuesdays and play games with other kids. Options include various board games, Nintendo Switch, and computers. Free snacks!  

We offer Homework Help to students in grades K-12 on Tuesdays from 3:30PM -5:30PM at the library. 

Practice reading aloud with Sammy, a golden retriever with Paws as Loving Support (PALS). Young readers will need to come about 10 minutes early to sign up for a reading time during the hour that Sammy is here.
