January 11, 2026

  • This session will include an overview of tools used in quilting including the sewing machine, self-healing mats, rotary cutters and rulers. We will also review some quilting specific terminology such piecing, sashing, borders, binding, and quilt sandwich. We will select fabric, use rotary cutters, and try out the machines!

January 18, 2026

  • This session will focus on the quilt process, including learning basic block designs of Nine Patch, Half Square Triangle, and Split Rail. Each block design will help demonstrate fundamental quilt processes such as strip piecing and nesting seams.

January 25, 2026

  • This last session focuses on bringing it all together by creating a quilt sandwich and doing a little quilting via the "stitch in the ditch" method. We will also discuss the difference between piecing and quilting and different types of quilting methods - tying, stitch in the ditch, hand quilting, free motion, long arm.
