Program Description

LumaCon is a FREE comic convention for youth and families that celebrates creativity and literacy for all.

At the April 30 event, professional and youth artists, illustrators, and graphic novelists will display and sell their work in the Artists’ Alley. Popular culture enthusiasts of all ages are encouraged to wear cosplay (costumes) for maximum fun. Teens and children can participate in the cosplay competition.

Attendees can try LARPing (Live Action Role Play), enjoy crafting for kids, check out the Sonoma County Library BiblioBus stocked with graphic novels and comics, draw their own comics, meet Star Wars characters from the 501st and Rebel Legions, and more.

LumaCON! is a community celebration of creativity, literacy, and popular culture, put on by the public and the school libraries of Petaluma. Check out for more details.

Due to the changes made for the event because of COVID-19 regulations, LumaCon 2022 has to be a limited ticketed event. Entry is still free, but tickets will be required for each member of your party including babies. Get your tickets here! LumaCon!Online 2022 had several online events happen that do not require tickets to view:

The librarians of Casa Grande High School, Petaluma High School, and Petaluma Regional Library (Sonoma County Library) have been producing LumaCon since 2015 with the support of the Friends of the Petaluma Libary, the Teen Advisory Council, and members of our community.
