Join librarians virtually to discuss books by authors who are Black, Indigenous or People of Color (BIPOC).

Read BIPOC Book Club meets virtually the last Tuesday of the month (Feb. - Nov.) at 6:00 pm.

*Registration is required. To register, call your local library or sign up online. You will receive an email confirming your participation and another email closer to the date with the meeting links and details.

Physical copies of the book are available (while supplies last) at Northwest Santa Rosa Library. Call 707-546-2265 to have a copy held for you, either at Northwest or sent to your local library for pickup. Check out your book by following our new Curbside Pickup Procedure.

Here's a preview of November's title, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba:

In this memoir adapted for young readers, William Kamkwamba describes the drought that struck his tiny village in Malawi, his subsequent interest in science, and his idea to build a windmill. Made out of scrap metal and old bicycle parts, William's windmill brought electricity to his home and helped his family pump the water they needed to farm the land.
